At Promedica24 we offer live-in care to enable you to stay independent in your own home for longer. Our team of dedicated carers work with all sorts of individuals, from people living with dementia to those with long-term and life limiting conditions such as Parkinson’s, cancer, and MND, or the effects of a stroke.
We give you an alternative to residential care and care homes
If residential care doesn’t feel like the right way to go but you are beginning to need some level of support each day, our live-in care team could offer you a real, affordable, alternative.
Staying in your own home with a carer alongside you can allow you to remain in familiar surroundings and retain as much of your independence as possible. Your dedicated carer will encourage you to continue with favourite hobbies and activities, driving you to and from appointments and offering company whenever it’s needed.
If you’re living with the earlier stages of dementia, the companionship offered by our carers can be invaluable in keeping you comfortable and safe in your own home. Allowing family and friends to come and go with ease, and keeping you surrounded by familiar belongings and all-important routines.
And if you’re stuck in hospital, our highly trained team will be able to get you back where you belong, supporting you temporarily while you recuperate. Or if the worst should happen, keeping you comfortable, safe and looked after with dignified and respectful end of life care in your own home.
What makes Promedica24 different from other care providers?
Bespoke training
Our Promedica24 team is highly trained in-house to ensure consistency in the service we deliver. And we don’t just stick to the legally required mandatory training, we go above and beyond. Once our new recruits have completed basic elements such as first aid, fire safety and the like, we move to bespoke training designed around the person they’ll be working one on one with. This is delivered in the home where the carer will be working, and will cover manual handling as well as any specific skills required, for example, in dementia care or other special needs.
Person-centred care
Because our care teams work one-on-one with the people they’re caring for, we are able to design the care we provide precisely around the person receiving it. This means building daily routines that comfort and enrich them, selecting and cooking food that they enjoy and look forward to, and learning about and discussing friends, family and happy memories. To us it’s not just about providing the practical care and assistance, but the little things that offer comfort and quality of life too.
A dedicated Care Manager
When you choose to invite a live-in carer from Promedica24 into your home, you’ll be allocated a dedicated Care Manager. Their role is to make sure we fully understand what you’ll need from us and to make sure we deliver over and above expectation.
Your experienced Care Manager will complete a needs assessment, draft a care plan and then spend a generous amount of time introducing you to your new carer and making sure you’re both happy with the arrangement. Going forwards your Care Manager will also be available for regular face-to-face follow-ups in order to tweak and change things as necessary and to resolve any issues that crop up.
Access to a fully trained health professional
All our Care Managers are fully trained health professionals. This means you can be sure that they understand your needs from a medical perspective. And you’ll be able to ask questions or raise healthcare issues easily and openly during your regular face-to-face meetings.
This will also ensure you receive quick access to any support you require due to emerging care needs. Whether that’s a chewing or swallowing issue, concerns about the signs of dementia, anxiety and depression or anything else.
Your live-in carer will be trained to look out for worrying signs of many age-related conditions, which they can then raise with your Care Manager for further assessment and / or changes to your care plan. You’ll find we’re able to speed up the process, rather than waiting for GP appointments and further screening.
Here at Promedica24 we’re proud that our team is entirely care focused rather than business focused. And we purposely hire and train our dedicated team in a way that allows them to offer a truly person-centred service.
And that’s something the people we’re caring for really do appreciate.
