Promedica24 approved by Hertfordshire County Council

6 December 2022

Promedica24 has won approval from Hertfordshire County Council for the first time and is now recommended by the council.

The move will enable more people to access Promedica24’s live-in care services, as an alternative to moving into residential care.

As the only CQC-registered live-in care specialist, Promedica24 carefully matches individuals with carers who can support their needs, enabling people to stay in their homes and living as independently as possible but with additional support where they need it.

The Hertfordshire branch of Promedica24 is run by local entrepreneur Munashe Makuwaza, who set up the franchise in 2020 after identifying a need for live-in care in the community.

A leader in the live-in care industry, Promedica24 has been shortlisted for a Great British Care Award, in recognition of their response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The organisation also recently launched an innovative collaboration with Mirthy, the digital events platform designed to combat loneliness amongst older people.

In other local areas served by Promedica24, the company regularly undertakes charity initiatives, a legacy the Hertfordshire branch will look to continue. Recent successes include a Golf Day in Skipton to support Dementia Forward, which raised over £4500, and sponsorship of The Glamour Club initiative in Worthing to tackle social isolation.

Munashe Makuwaza, Regional Partner for Promedica24 in Hertfordshire, said:

“We’re really excited to have won approval from the council for our services in Hertfordshire. When choosing care for themselves or a loved one, everyone’s needs will be different. Whether someone is coming back from a hospital stay, has more advanced needs or simply needs a companion and a little extra support, a live-in carer can provide that expert help with the advantage of people being able to stay in the comfort of their own home.”

Michael Browne, Head of Franchise at Promedica24, commented:

“We’re delighted that Hertfordshire County Council has approved Promedica24, offering live-in care options to people in the area. This move will go a long way to recognising the assistance live-in care can provide and helping people to access our services.

“Promedica24 has already built an outstanding reputation, with over 100 franchises across the UK and Europe. We look forward to continuing to grow, build links within local communities and help many more people with our services.”
