International Parental Mental Health Week 2022

11 March 2022

The mental well-being of parents is going to be put under the spotlight during the very first International Parental Mental Health Week. This has become ever more important given the pandemic and the extra pressure parents have dealt with balancing their work life and family commitments, both of which may have suffered greatly due to the financial uncertainty we’ve all been subjected to for well over two years now.

Another huge consideration would be parents who need to care for someone living with certain health conditions such as Dementia or Parkinson’s Disease. This will of course have taken even more time away from their routine, and possibly caused insurmountable levels of stress. So, we want to help raise awareness for the well-being of parents in the UK and let them discover the joys of happiness once again.

What is Parental Mental Health Week?

Throughout this week, the primary aim is simply raising awareness for the on-going issues many parents are suffering with across the world in the form of statistics and hard facts. There’s also going to be details about how parents can access certain resources which can help them tackle their struggles more effectively.

According to awarenessdays.com, around 48% of parents said their stress levels had increased since the pandemic started to really take effect. The major implications of this outbreak coupled with previous concerns such as looking after someone living with health conditions, has now created an untenable situation for many. Now is the time to speak up and make sure the right help is given to the right people.

Getting involved is really simple. The best way would be jumping onto their social media campaign and sharing stories, pictures or anything else relevant, and make sure to add #ParentalMentalHealthAwarenessWeek

Simple Tips to Boost Your Mood

Even a really small change made to your typical routine could make a huge difference, and in most cases, this could well be adjustments made to either your diet or exercise regime. If things get too much, simply walk away your concerns, and obviously the more healthy your food and drink, the more likely you are to feel comfortable in your own skin.

Have You Considered Live-In Care?

We’re ready to help take away one of the biggest ordeals for many parents suffering with poor mental health, and that’s supporting people living with certain health conditions. With live-in care, your loved ones will have proactive support in place, giving them the human companionship and structured routine needed to maintain the best possible quality of life. You’ll also be kept up-to-date with anything important and placed at the heart of any new or existing care plans to maximise the services being provided.

The final result is reassurance that your loved one is getting the care they need, and never at the expense of your own time and well-being. This means you’re only concerned with paying them a visit and enjoying quality time together, something which is certain to benefit both parties greatly.
