Here at Promedica24 we are absolutely delighted that we were recently able to celebrate and mark the incredible milestone of one of our client’s 100th birthday!
Last weekend Eileen celebrated her 100th birthday in style, starting her day with the assistance of her live-in Care Workers who made sure she was dressed perfectly for her big day; due to lockdown rule changes, she was even able to have her hair cut and styled by a mobile hairdresser just in time for the special occasion! When asked by her care manager if anything nice was happening, Eileen said, with a twinkle in her eye, “something big is coming up, I do believe.” We were all delighted to see that Eileen received a card from HRH the Queen, as she enjoyed flowers and cake provided by Promedica24 which allowed her to start her celebrations one day earlier, and why not! Eileen was able to enjoy her big day alongside her close family members with a socially-distanced birthday party within her own home and garden. The care team and family were so excited to be able to share this day with her, especially during these unique times and the challenges currently faced by us all.
Over a cup of tea and slice of cake, Eileen thanked the care team for “providing me with such a lovely cake and a beautiful flower arrangement for my birthday, I am truly delighted and grateful for all the support I receive at home from Promedica24”. Our wonderful client continued to enjoy her celebrations with her family and care team, spending the rest of the afternoon relaxing and rekindling memories with her family. One of the memories that Eileen accounted was how she remembers a vast amount of changes within the UK, and the many Prime Ministers that have served the Queen throughout her 100 years!
When asked if she had any advice for anyone who wants to live to 100, Eileen had this to say “be good, be kind and true – every evening I would kick of my shoes and enjoy a glass of wine”; this is something we would all definitely like to live by!
Happy 100th Birthday from all of us at Promedica24, and many congratulations for this amazing milestone of becoming a centenarian Eileen!
