What is Respite Care?

Respite care is a short-term care solution designed to give primary carers a much-needed break from their caregiving responsibilities. At Promedica24, we offer both live-in and hourly respite care options, tailored to meet your unique needs and preferences.

Looking after someone is a big responsibility. When it’s time to take a break, the Respite Passport from Promedica24 makes it easier, more flexible, and more affordable.

By purchasing a Respite Passport, you lock in today’s lowest respite care rates, giving you the freedom to plan ahead.

What’s included?

  • Choose how many weeks of Live-in Care respite over 12 months
  • Choose the number of weeks that suit your needs: 4, 6, 8, 12 weeks
  • Respite care at deeply discounted rates
  • Flexible booking – choose when and how long
  • Full support with care assessments and planning
  • £50 initial fee refunded if all agreed weeks are used in a year
  • Provisional care assessment at the start
  • Full care assessment before each respite begins
  • One less thing to arrange when your respite time comes

Respite Savings Overview

  • Full Price: £750 or £550 on top of the care rate
  • With Passport: Just £225 or £125 – saving up to £525 per week
  • Save over £3,000 based off 8 weeks.

Example:

7 days of respite care:
Full Price: Personal Care Package- £1,395 + £750 = £2,145/week
With Passport: £1,395 + £125 = £1,520/week

Minimum 7 consecutive days per use. Care needs determine the weekly base rate, length of care package determine the weekly respite surcharge rate.

  • A £50 upfront fee is payable to activate the Respite Passport
  • The £50 fee is refundable if all 8 weeks of respite are used within the passport year.
  • Respite Passport includes up to 8 weeks of respite live-in care within a 12-month period. Other durations are subject to availability.
  • Minimum 7 consecutive days per respite use.
  • Respite not available in December unless by prior agreement.
  • Respite services must be booked at least two weeks in advance.
  • A provisional care assessment is undertaken at the outset. A full assessment is done before each respite period.
  • Care pricing is based on the current standard weekly service rate, which may vary with care needs.
  • Respite Passport discounted rates:
    • £225/week for 0–13 days (vs. £750 standard)
    • £125/week for 14–27 days (vs. £550 standard)
  • Subject to availability and service contract terms.

Live-in Respite Care

Our live-in respite care service provides round-the-clock support from a fully trained carer who resides in your loved one’s home. This option ensures continuity of care and familiar routines, minimising disruption to your family member’s daily life.

Hourly Respite Care

For those who need support for shorter periods, our hourly respite care offers flexible, professional assistance at scheduled times. This option is ideal for primary carers who need regular breaks or support with specific tasks.
