Employee Benefits Platform to Support UK Care Workers

7 September 2021

Promedica24, Europe’s largest provider of live-in care services, has launched an employee benefits platform to support its 400 UK care workers.

The platform, provided by Perkbox, offers staff access to hundreds of benefits including free health and fitness classes; discounts at restaurants, supermarkets and retail stores; mindfulness sessions and 24/7 access to an online GP.

Rolled out this month, the platform has been launched to increase employee engagement and support staff with their emotional, financial, physical and mental wellbeing. It has formed a part of the company’s wider employee wellbeing programme, which also includes access to private medical insurance, mentoring with personal care managers, 24/7 telephone support, activity days, and craft and cookery courses.
The platform will support the company’s recruitment campaign to hire 2000 UK care workers over the next 18 months.

Mirela Waller, HR Officer said: “Our live-in care workers dedicate their professional lives to supporting others, often going above and beyond their regular duties to ensure our clients are living happily and safely in the comfort of their own homes. They have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic and have continued to provide outstanding physical and emotional support for our clients.

“We wanted to show our recognition for their hard work and commitment by introducing a variety of perks and benefits that have something to offer for everyone. The platform has received great feedback from our staff so far, and it will play a key part in strengthening our employee engagement and satisfaction for years to come.”

Grzegorz Wrzosek, Head of UK Recruitment, said: “Continuing to support and invest in our workforce is our top priority and we strive to be an employer of choice in the care industry. To attract and retain the best people, we must recognise care workers as the skilled professionals they are by offering a competitive salary, a well-rounded benefits and support package, and a long-term career path with opportunities for continuing professional development.

“Alongside our existing employee benefits and support programme, we are confident the addition of the platform will strengthen our position as a leading employer in the care industry and attract people with the right set of skills, values and experience to deliver outstanding care and support.”

All Promedica24 live-in care workers undertake comprehensive training and development including person-centred care, first aid, moving and handling, safeguarding, medication management and dignity and respect in the provision of care. The company provides live-in care and companionship for people living with a variety of health conditions, including Alzheimer’s, dementia, stroke, cancer, motor neurone disease, palliative care, and Parkinson’s.

Clients are matched with care workers based on mutual interests, shared hobbies, and personality traits to help build strong relationships and provide the highest quality personalised care and support.
